Laquon Treadwell Career

High school career

Treadwell spent his three-year football career at Crete-Monee High School in suburban Chicago, where he finished as the second-leading receiver in Illinois prep history with 3,563 yards. He played mainly as a wide receiver early in his career, but he was also the team's quarterback as a freshman and also played on defense as a freshman. He had 58 passes for 811 yards and seven touchdowns as a sophomore. He was voted the Northland Conference Offensive Player of the Year, a first-team all-state pick, and eight defense sacks. Since leading Crete-Monee to a 14-0 record and the Class 6A state championship, Treadwell was named Chicago Tribune Player of the Year, NWI Times Offensive Player of the Year, and a senior team; he rushed for 257 yards and seven more points on the ground; on defense, he totaled 56 tackles and six interceptions. Treadwell was selected by Under Armour, USA Today, MaxPreps, and SuperPrep for his senior season performances. Treadwell, the Warriors' best basketball guard and forward, averaged 13.0 points and 8.6 rebounds per game.

Treadwell played in the 2013 Under Armour All-America Game, where he was backed by the nation's No.1 cornerback and Florida recruit Vernon Hargreaves III. He had six catches for 46 yards in the game.

Treadwell was rated as Illinois' top football recruit in 2013 by Rivals.com, Scout.com, 247Sports.com, and MaxPreps, the country's top football recruit. Tom Lemming, Rivals.com, and ESPN.com have all ranked the 1 wide receiver. He had been rated as the No. 1 in the United States. Rivals.com, No. 5 is the top recruiter in the country. No. 6 by MaxPreps. No. 19 by ESPN.com, No. 201. 247Sports.com and No. 28 are 28 and No.1 in the United States. Scout.com ranks the 30th best-selling children in the country. According to 247Sports, Treadwell ran a claimed 4.40 in the 40-yard dash, checking in at 6'3 inches (1.91 m), 195 pounds (88 kg). He was also the No. 1. At the 247Sports Composite Rankings, there is 1 ranked wide receiver in the 2013 class. On November 30, 2012, Treadwell pledged to the University of Mississippi. Anthony Standifer, a defensive back at Ole Miss and Treadwell's former high school teammate, was the one who piqued Treadwell's interest in the Rebels.

College career

Treadwell played three seasons for the Rebels as part of the highly regarded 2013 University of Mississippi signing class. He ended his career as the all-time leading pass catcher in Ole Miss history, with 202 receptions (seventh-most in SEC history) and ranked third in receiving yards with 2,393 and touchdowns, as well as second with nine consecutive 100-yard receiving games. In all 35 games in which he played for the Rebels, Treadwell had at least one catch.

Treadwell blasted it out of college with a record-breaking rookie season, establishing Ole Miss' freshman records with 72 receptions for 608 receiving yards and five touchdown catches. By the league coaches, he was named SEC Freshman of the Year, making him the first student in school history to be named SEC Freshman of the Year. In his Rebel debut at Vanderbilt, he set a school freshman record of nine catches and matched the number again in the regular-season finale at Mississippi State. He appeared in every game of the season and made 12 starts as a slot receiver. Treadwell made his first appearance in his college debut on August 29 and made the most of it, breaking an Ole Miss freshman record with nine catches for 82 yards and hauling in a two-point conversion; he was named SEC Freshman of the Week for his efforts. He had four catches for 51 yards, one rush for 1 yard, and threw his lone career interception in Week 4 at # 1 Alabama. When scoring his first two collegiate touchdowns, Treadwell had a team-high eight passes for 77 yards against #9 Texas A&M on October 12. He was instrumental in the Rebels' 34-24 victory over Arkansas, racking for 39 yards and a touchdown. He had four catches for 53 yards and two touchdowns against Troy this week, including a highlight-reel catch-and-run in which he lost five tackles on his way to the end zone. With nine catches for 57 yards in Mississippi State's last game of the season, Treadwell tied his own Ole Miss freshman record of nine catches for 57 yards. During the game, he completed a 19-yard pass to quarterback Bo Wallace on a trick play and then pushed and recovered a fumble to regain possession after a Wallace interception.

Treadwell grabbed a screen pass and led it to the Tigers' 1 yard line on November 1, 2014, with 1:30 remaining in the game against #3 Auburn. Treadwell fractured his tibia and dislocated his ankle, causing additional stress, and bringing insult to the situation, he fumbled the ball, which was recovered in the end zone by Auburn's linebacker Cassanova McKinzy, essentially ending the game for the Tigers.

Treadwell revealed on January 4, 2016, that he will forego his last year of eligibility at Ole Miss in order to start the 2016 NFL Draft. "We've all agreed it's time for me to take the next step in my career and join the NFL draft; it's always been a dream of mine to play in the NFL, and we can't thank our teammates, coaches, and our many faithful supporters since the first day I stepped foot on campus." Irma's Rebel will always be an Ole Miss Rebel, no matter how far life will take us. "God bless" is the word that comes to mind.

Professional career

Mike Mayock, a NFL Network analyst, ranked Treadwell second overall among wide receivers and compared him to Houston Texans superstar wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins prior to the draft. He also gave him a score of 6.25, only behind Notre Dame's Will Fuller.

Treadwell said on February 22, that he would not participate in the 40-yard dash at the combine, claiming he wanted more time before running it in front of NFL team scouts and general managers. He said he set his target in the mid-to-high 4.4s or 4.5s. "I figured if I had enough time to work on it, I'd get the time I need," Treadwell said. He did well in the combine, but his 33-inch leap placed him in the bottom half of the wide receiver group. Treadwell said he ran a 6.62-yard split on second attempt at Ole Miss's pro day, despite a comparatively late 40-yard dash time that scouts had aspired; in his first attempt, he clocked a pedestrian 4.65 seconds, and on his second attempt, he ran a 4.63-yard time. However, the more surprising conclusion for Treadwell was not his 40-yard dash time but a disappointing 33+1,8 m) vertical leap, much better than his half-inch time in Indianapolis. He also did the 20-yard shuttle in 4.30 seconds and a 3-cone drill in 7.04 seconds. Treadwell's 40-yard dash time would have ranked him 28th among the 43 wide receivers evaluated in Indianapolis based on his combine and Pro Day numbers. His twelve reps in the bench press ranked for 22nd in the group, with his combined vertical jump tied for 23rd. His general leap of 9'9" (2.97 m) ranked 12th and his campus numbers in the 20-yard shuttle and 3-cone drill would have been ranked 17th and 16th respectively, according to his reports. "I didn't run what I wanted to run after the workout, but it was fun." I'm proud of myself for the activities that were most notable. I'm just a playmaker, and when I get into the game, it's a different vibe than the 40-yard dash."

In the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft, Treadwell was drafted as the 23rd overall pick by the Minnesota Vikings. On April 29, it was revealed that Treadwell, a No. 29 girl, had been banned from wearing No. 49. No. 1 at Ole Miss will wear No. The Vikings had 11 players, the most for the first time since wide receiver Mike Wallace was released in March. Treadwell caused minor controversy in June 2016 after being chosen by the Vikings when posting a snapshot of himself sporting a Oakland Raiders baseball cap on social media.

Treadwell made his first appearance as a Viking in a preseason game against the Cincinnati Bengals on August 12, 2016, catching a game-high four passes for 41 yards from backup quarterback Shaun Hill and third-stringer Joel Stave.

Treadwell caught his first NFL pass in the first quarter against the Detroit Lions in the NFC North division, on November 6, 2016. This will be Treadwell's first appearance of the 2016 season. Despite having high hopes following the draft, Treadwell's rookie season was disappointing, as he only appeared in nine games and finished the season with just one reception for 15 yards.

Treadwell had three receptions for 33 yards against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 2. He had 20 receptions for 200 receiving yards in the 2017 season.

Treadwell scored his first professional touchdown against the Green Bay Packers in Week 2 of Week 2 in Week 2.

The Vikings turned down the fifth-year option on Treadwell's contract, making him a free agent in 2020. He was released on August 31, 2019. On September 24, the Vikings re-signed Treadwell. Treadwell scored 1 pass against the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football in Week 13, defeating the 37-30 loss. This was Treadwell's first touchdown catch since the 2018 season's second game.

Treadwell signed with the Atlanta Falcons on March 25, 2020, before being announced on September 5, 2020. On September 16, 2020, he was signed to their practice squad. By the time, he was on the practice squad/COVID-19 list. He was called back to the practice squad and then promoted to the active roster on December 1, 2020. Despite seeing little action in the first five games of the 2020 season, he made six receptions on seven total targets for 49 yards and scored a single-season high of two touchdowns.

Treadwell was a student at the University of On June 18, 2021, the Jacksonville Jaguars signed him on June 18, 2021. He was released on August 31, 2021 and re-signed to the practice squad the next day. On November 6, 2021, he was admitted to the active roster.

Treadwell re-signed with the Jaguars on March 21, 2022. He was born on August 29, 2022.

Treadwell was drafted to the New England Patriots' practice squad on September 6, 2022. He was released on October 4, 2022.

Treadwell was admitted to the Arizona Cardinals practice squad on October 12, 2022.
