An appeal was granted by a Christian teaching assistant who had been sacked after raising doubts about LGBT lessons taught in her son's kindergarten. After posting Facebook messages condemning efforts to educate primary school children about gay rights and gender identity issues, Kristie Higgs, 46, was dismissed. She said she was unfairly dismissed after being suspended for gross misconduct by Farmor's School in Fairford, Gloucestershire, in 2019. She accused the school of misdeed and bullying, but she was turned down in an employment tribunal. However, the mother of two children has now appealed the decision after a judge found that "the right to express belief (religious or not) is a fundamental right in any democracy." Mrs Higgs said she is still 'appalled' by the sexology that was being introduced to my son's Church of England primary school.' And she says she is "so justified and rewarded for revealing and expressing the concerns."
