Koit Toome Career

Koit Toome was discovered in the music academy in 1994 by music producer Mikk Targo, who was eager to start a solo career for Koit. It later emerged that Koit's schoolmate and first-support vocalist Sirli Hiius harmonized perfectly with Koit. Due to this, Koit's solo became a pop star, Code One, enjoying a lengthy line of top hits, which has since morphed into a phenomenon that has remained evergreen. Despite having called the active years as a singing pair to an end years ago, Toome and Hiius often perform together.

At the Eurovision Song Contest in Birmingham in 1998, Koit Toome represented Estonia. With the song "Mere lapsed," he came in 12th with 36 points. He released his debut solo album of mostly self-penned content on it last year. Toome has released five albums as a solo artist and with Code One. In March 2010, his new studio album, "Kaugele siit" ("Far from here") was released.

Koit Toome was crowned the winner of Tantsud tähtedega (Dancing with the Stars) with his partner, Kertu Tänav, on the ground in 2007.

Koit Toome has also embarked on a voice acting career, dubbing animated films. Lightning McQueen's Estonian voice was used in the Disney film Cars, among other things.

With the duet "Verona," Koit Toome and Laura Páldvere won Eesti Laul in 2017. They then represented Estonia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Kyiv, Ukraine. Despite being a huge fan favorite and seen as probable qualifiers before, the pair did not progress to the Grand Final by odds and 5th by overall voting in the 2nd semi-final by odds and 5th in the OGAE's 4th grand final.

Toome attempted to represent Estonia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 by being in Eesti Laul 2021 with his song "We Should Have Been Beautiful." In the national final, he came in fourth place.
