Kirsten "Kiki" Sanford (born August 1, 1974) is an American neurophysiologist and science communicator.
She left research to pursue a career in science communication after working at the University of California, Davis, as a research scientist.
Her work has included several audio and video programs, including the This Week in Science radio program and podcast, as well as Dr. Kiki's Science Hour, a podcast that involves interviews with experts in a particular scientific field.

Sanford was born in Santa Rosa, California, and raised near Stockton, California. She has a B.S. degree. From the University of Washington, C., a conservation biology and Ph.D. in Molecular, Cellular, and Integrative Physiology. Davis, Davis. She is a learning and memory specialist. When attending graduate school in Washington, D.C., I was thinking of moving to the United States for the first time. Davis found academic bureaucracy unappealing and changed her career path from academia to science communication. In taekwondo, Sanford holds a black belt. When faced with research challenges during graduate school, she says martial arts was "something concrete to get to." Sanford and her husband lived in San Francisco until moving to Portland, Oregon, in April 2015.
