Kim Dotcom Life

Kim Dotcom (born Kim Schmitz, also known as Kimble and Kimtim Jim Vestor), a German-Finnish internet entrepreneur and social activist who lives in Queenstown, New Zealand, is a senior citizen and activist.

He first came to fame in Germany in the 1990s as a pioneer of the Internet. Dotcom is the creator of Megaupload, the now-defunct file hosting service that was launched in 2005-2012.

The company was profitable, but the US Department of Justice confiscated its website and filed lawsuits against Dotcom in 2012, including criminal copyright violation, money laundering, racketeering, and wire fraud.

Dotcom was deposing in New Zealand at the time, and New Zealand authorities arrested him and searched his house.

Dotcom posted bail and is currently going through lengthy court hearings and appeals to avoid being extradited to the United States. Dotcom, as well as co-accused Mathias Ortmann, Bram van der Kolk, and Carter Edwards, may be extradited to the United States on fraud charges relating to Megaupload, according to a New Zealand court on February 20.

Dotcom denies any wrongdoing and has accused US authorities of pursuing a vendetta against him on behalf of politically influential Hollywood studios.

The New Zealand Court of Appeal upheld the lower court's decision on July 5, 2018.

His counsel said he would appeal the decision to the Supreme Court in 2013, but he later cut all links with the service in 2015.

He also started and funded the Internet Party.

The party ran in the 2014 general election as part of a partisan alliance with the Mana Movement and the 2017 general election, but in neither election, the party did not win any seats.

Early life

In what was then politically independent Germany, Kim Schmitz was born in Kiel, the north of Germany, in what was then politically West Germany. His mother was Finnish, so he has a Finnish passport and siblings in Finland. His father was a German. In 2005, he legally changed his surname to Dotcom.

He lived a luxurious life prior to his detention in New Zealand. Kimvestor, his primary source of income in 2001, was a company that was known for investing his money on luxury cars and boats. Dotcom chartered a 240 ft (73 m) yacht and used it to host parties for guests such as Prince Rainier of Monaco during the 2000 Monaco Formula One Grand Prix.

On November 29, 2010, he was granted permanent residence in New Zealand. Although his residence was under consideration, Dotcom was planning a fireworks show in Auckland at a cost of NZ$600,000. He leased a house in Coatesville, a rural area near Auckland that is owned by developers Richard and Ruth Bradley and is considered one of the country's most expensive homes. When the lease ended, he wanted to buy the house.

He was the world's top-one rated Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 player out of more than 15 million online gamers before his capture in New Zealand.

Personal life

Dotcom met Mona Verga, whom he described as his "soulmate" and the "love of his life," on July 10, 2009. When Verga gave birth in Auckland in March 2012, a month after being released on bail from Mt Eden jail, he became the father of twin girls (his fourth and fifth child). Dotcom revealed on Twitter that he had been divorced from his wife Mona and was seeking divorce on May 17th. Mona had left her directorship posts in the Dotcom family's companies four days earlier.

Dotcom declared in November 2017 that he would marry Elizabeth Donnelly, his fiancée, on January 20th, the twentieth anniversary of the raid during which he was arrested. Dotcom is 21 years older than Donnelly. They had been dating for two years and then moved to Queenstown in 2017.

Elon Musk speaks out against his resignation after a volatile Twitter poll called for his resignation

www.dailymail.co.uk, December 20, 2022
After a Twitter poll recommended that he remove from the social media platform, Elon Musk has finally spoken out. Kim Dotcom, a convicted fraudster, claimed the results of the Musk's poll, which asked him to resign, were skewed by fake accounts. Musk said that participation in future policy-related polls would be encouraged,'Interesting' Musk said, while also stating that only Twitter Blue users will be allowed to vote in future policy-based polls. Musk's survey came after weeks of contentious decisions, including dismissing half of Twitter's global workforce, renaming far-right figures to the platform, suspending journalists, and offering to pay for previously free services.

In this bizarre Q&A, Elon Musk says he is not "suicidal."

www.dailymail.co.uk, December 5, 2022
In another tumultuous interview in which Elon Musk denied that he is not "suicidal" because of his "Twitter Files" leaks, he said he is not "suicideable." During a second Twitter Spaces appearance just 24 hours after allegations of censorship were revealed on his website, the Twitter CEO was quizzed on his personal safety. Kim Dotcom, the world's richest man, asked if he had been having'suicidal thoughts' out of the blue, something that shocked other participants of the discussion. I do not have any suicidal thoughts,' Musk replied. It's not true if I committed suicide.' In October, the world's richest man took over Twitter for $44 billion, indicating that his personal security was at a greater risk due to his employment. Musk said, "In fact, the danger of something bad happening or even being shot is very high." I'm positive not going to be attending any open-air car parades,' let me put it that way.' If someone wanted to kill me, it's not that difficult, so I hope they don't. 'Maybe I should be more concerned than I am, but I think you have the people on your side if you do right by the people.'
