The home of a LAPD storm man and find a pistol cache, but BACKTRACK on allegations that they thwarted mass shootings

www.dailymail.co.uk, February 3, 2023
After police stormed his Hollywood flat and discovered a stash of high-powered rifles, shotguns, and handguns, a 25-year-old army veteran was arrested. Officers said on Thursday that there was a'strong chance' they had intercepted a potential mass shooting in the county, which is still reeling from the deadly Monterey Park shooting. However, they later backtracked, claiming there was no proof Braxton Johnson (right), who neighbors referred to as "odd," was planning an attack. Authorities were first alerted to Johnson on Tuesday after he reportedly made violent threats to security forces at his apartment building and others outside. In California, a dramatic video clip captures the moment they later stormed his 18th floor apartment, where they discovered two assault rifles and high-capacity ammunition magazines, both of which are illegal in California. They also discovered three semiautomatic pistols, a sniper rifle, a shotgun, and more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition. Several rifles were pointed from windows to a nearby park, according to the LAPD. The park was not identified by the police, but internet maps showed a dog park next to the apartment building.
