Allen is known for his main role as Toby Cavanaugh on the Freeform series Pretty Little Liars.

Early life

Allen was born and raised in California, the son of actor Phillip R. Allen and artist Joan Snyder Allen. In 2009, he graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from American Musical and Dramatic Academy. Allen is Jewish, as his mother.

Career

Allen's obsession in his younger years centered on photography, cinematography, and other responsibilities behind the camera. However, at the age of 13, he found his first paid job in a small, non-speaking role in a Animal Planet documentary. Allen appeared in an episode of Nickelodeon's television show Big Time Rush in 2010. On the ABC Family (later Freeform) mystery film Pretty Little Liars, Spencer Hastings (Troian Bellisario) began to appear on Toby Cavanaugh, Spencer Hastings' love interest (Troian Bellisario).

Allen is a natural photographer who has written two photography books in addition to acting. "Life.love.beauty" was introduced in 2015. In Allen's words, the Ingram and Publishers Weekly best-selling book "Takes you on a photographic journey through my life so far." Allen's book "HOLLYWOOD: Images and Stories from Foreverland" appeared in 2018.

Allen released "Million Miles Away," a digital-only music album released in 2017. He started the podcast Foreverland in 2017 about his life, passions, and experiences. He appeared as a celebrity guest at the Super Smash Bros. Invitational 2014 in 2014.

Allen was cast as Liam Walker, the brother of Cordell Walker in The CW crime drama series Walker, a new series that premiered on February 19, 2020.
