Katrina Pierson Career

Career

Pierson worked with InViventiv Health from 2009 to August 2011, as a corporate affairs manager for ASG Software Solutions from May 2011 to December 2012; then as a field administrator; and then in a variety of positions until being hired by the Trump campaign.

In the 2008 presidential election, Pierson voted for Barack Obama. In 2009, she became a leader of the Tea Party movement. She called for Texas to secede from the United States at a Dallas Tea Party gathering in April 2009. Pierson was on stage with Ted Cruz in 2012, supporting him in the 2012 Senate run in Texas, and he appeared on television with him on November night.

Pierson defeated incumbent congressman Pete Sessions in the Republican primary to represent Texas' 32nd congressional district in the 2014 Texas congressional elections and lost. Rafael Cruz and Sarah Palin supported her candidacy.

Pierson got 36 percent of the vote in the March primary, disappointing Sessions who received 63 percent.

Pierson went on to be a spokesperson for the Tea Party leadership fund.

Pierson attended a meeting for Tea Party supporters in Myrtle Beach in January 2015. Ted Cruz was present at the meeting. When in Myrtle Beach, she also met with Donald Trump. She was hired as the national spokesperson for Trump's campaign in November 2015 and spent time on television, often being regarded as one of Trump's most ardent supporters in the face of tense remarks.

Pierson resigned from an administration job as Deputy Press Secretary after the 2016 election and instead worked at America First Policies, a pro-Trump 501(c)(4) group. Pierson, the Trump 2020 campaign's senior advisor, was hired in March 2018.

Pierson served as a liaison between the White House and the campaign's supporters on the Ellipse, prior to the 2021 United States Capitol attack. This reporting was later enhanced by text messages obtained by CNN in 2022.

Pierson mulled running in the Texas 6th congressional district special election to replace deceased U.S. Representative Ron Wright in 2021. She eventually opted against a bid for the position, but said she was "not shutting the door" on a potential bid for Congress.

Pierson was one of eleven people subpoenaed by the House Select Committee on the morning of September 29, 2021, about their participation in orchestrating the Stop the Steal protest, which predates Trump's allies' assault on the United States Capitol.

Pierson phoned White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows on January 2nd and third, 2021, stating, "T]heings have gotten crazy and I urgently need some direction." I can't be any more embarrassed POTUS than I am.
