Earlier career
Hill began her career as a policy advocate for People Assisting the Homeless (PATH), a non-profit group that provides affordable and supportive services to the homeless in California. Hill is said to have been her boss, and that her husband served there as well. PATH's Executive Director transformed the group from a local police force in Los Angeles County to one of California's biggest nonprofit providers of homes for the homeless.
