Katherine Brooks (born March 15, 1976, Covington, Louisiana) is an American film writer and director.

Brooks is a member of the Directors Guild of America, a juror for Samsung Fresh-Films 2007—the country's biggest youth filmmaking program, and the recipient of the LACE Award for Arts and Entertainment, which honors women who have made a difference in the entertainment industry.

Career

Brooks has produced and produced numerous television shows as well as written and directed films. Three seasons of Emmy Award-winning TV show The Osbournes, Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica, and MTV's groundbreaking The Real World have been on display. She helmed There and Back, with Ashley Parker Angel and Tiffany Lynn, and Created the Barkers, a Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker, directed and produced The Simple Life starring Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie, while MTV's There and Back, as a network contributor.

After making her short films Finding Kate and Dear Emily, Brooks transitioned to directing feature films.

Loving Annabelle, Brooks' first feature film, directed and starring Erin Kelly, Diane Gaidry, and Kevin McCarthy, premiered at the prestigious Cinequest Film Festival in 2006; the film received the Audience Award and Best Actress Award at Outfest. In addition, Loving Annabelle received Best Feature Film at Melbourne Film Festival (2006), Barcelona Film Festival (2006), and Atlanta Film Festival (2006), as well as the Jury Award at the Paris Cinema Festival (2006).

In New Orleans, Brooks directed her second film, Waking Madison, a film starring Sarah Roemer (Disturbia), Elisabeth Shue, Will Patton, Frances Conroy, and Taryn Manning. The film follows a young woman with multiple personality disorder. Face 2 Face, a reality show on Netflix, was released in 2013. Katherine was a Field Producer on Gal Gadot's "Impact" National Geographic show "Impact."

Jill Hennessy appears in Lost in Time (2018), her last film.
