Katherine Bailess (born April 24, 1980) is an American actress, singer, and dancer best known for her role as Erica Marsh on the CW's hit show One Tree Hill, Life and Death Brigade's Erica Marsh.
Early life
Bailess was born in Vicksburg, Mississippi, to Natalie and Bobby Bailess. Her father, who is a former linebacker for the Ole Miss Rebels football team at the University of Mississippi, was a teammate of Archie Manning. At age 4, she began training classically in dance. She competed in gymnastics and cheerleading throughout her youth. Bailess performed on the television version of Miss Mississippi Pageant as a dancer and went on to appear for the pageant for seven years. She was granted scholarships to study dance at both the Broadway Dance Center in New York City and Ann Reinking's Broadway Theater Project in Florida. She was a debutante. She attended St. Francis Xavier Convent School and later St. Aloysius Catholic High School, which she attended in 1998 before going to Marymount Manhattan College, where she studied musical theatre and dance. Bailess went on to study at William Esper Studio's two-year intensive program after college.
Career
Bailess appeared in the 2003 film From Justin to Kelly, playing Alexa, and in Universal's 2004 film Bring It On Again, playing Colleen Lipman. Gilmore Girls and One Tree Hill are two of her television credits. Kat appeared on Fox's The Loop, Sordid Lives the Series, and as a guest on NCIS. Bailess appeared in the YouTube comedy series Shit Southern Women, written and directed by Julia Fowler.
Elle: A Modern Cinderella Tale co-produced by her. Bailess was also included on the soundtrack for "The Bounce" by Justin to Kelly, "Wish Upon a Star," "That's the Way I Like It," and "Brighter Star" by Bill Coveney.
