Kate Silverton Life

Kate Silverton, an English journalist, is currently employed by the BBC, and she is a reporter with a national interest.

Silverton, who is mainly a relief presenter for the BBC, is seen on BBC News at Six, BBC News at Ten, and BBC Weekend News, as well as making occasional appearances on BBC News and BBC World News.

In 2018, she appeared in the sixteenth season of BBC's Strictly Come Dancing, partnering professional dancer Aljaz Skorjanec.

Early life and education

Patricia Silverton, a black-cab driver and Terry Silverton, was born in Waltham Abbey, Essex, England, the niece of Terry Silverton, a black-cab driver-turned-registered hypnotherapist, and Patricia Silverton. Claire and Amy, Silverton's two sisters, have joined her. Silverton competed at West Hatch High School in Chigwell, Essex, where she was the junior swimming champion. She also competed in the triathlon. She was a Girl Guide and received the Queen's Guide Award.

Silverton graduated from St. Cuthbert's Society, a Durham University College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, having previously studied Arabic and Middle Eastern history for a year.

Personal life

In 2010, Silverton married Mike Heron. Silverton gave birth to a baby girl on November 5th, 2011. After four failed cycles of IVF, her baby daughter was eventually born naturally. Silverton had been told she would not be able to get pregnant naturally after losing an ovary during an operation to remove a cyst at the age of 29.

Silverton announced on January 25, 2014, at the age of 43, that she was pregnant with her second child. "Mike and I are thrilled to announce that Clemency is going to be a major sister this summer," she posted on Twitter. On June 26, 2014, the couple's second child, a boy, was born.

Silverton is a 5 foot 10in tall. She said that Strictly Come Dancing's designers had custom-made shoes made for her because no one in the Strictly wardrobe was large enough for her above-average height nine feet.

Silverton sued a clinic in January 2008 after a suspected botched cosmetic surgery procedure for acne scars treatment. Silverton said the surgery resulted in a severe skin reaction, and she had to miss two weeks of work following the treatment. The complaint was brought for unspecified financial damages.
