Kate McGill Career

Career

McGill has released over 100 videos with over 8 hours of footage, with strangers from around the world covering her original songs. She defeated 2000 people to win Tesco Entertainment's 1Click2Fame in late 2010, netting her a £100,000 reward.

McGill's first studio album, Replaced, was released in 2011. She went on to perform live at 34 Caffè Nero stores around the United Kingdom.

McGill announced on November 3 that she would no longer be performing by herself on November 3, 2012. She hasn't wished to be known as "Kate McGill, the girl that covers songs on YouTube," she said. On Wednesday, 19 December 2012, she performed at Surya in London for a farewell gig.

McGill revealed on March 22, 2013 that she and Daniel Broadley and Carl Jones had formed Meadowlark, a new band. They also released a live version of "Family Tree," which focuses on Kate's personal life on the same day. Meadowlark's first EP, Three Six Five, was released on May 26, 2014. Carl Jones will no longer be a member of the band in September, a fresh start. On March 30, 2016, Kate and Daniel performed their first EP as a pair, dubbed Dual. Their single "Eyes Wide" rose to fame on the radio show BBC Music Introducing, and they appeared on the BBC Introduction stage later this year. Meadowlark's Paraffin EP was released in 2016, followed by two singles, "Quicksand" and "Headlights." Postcards, their debut album, came out on June 30th.
