Karma Samdrup (born May 8, 1968) in Gonjo (Chin: Gongjue) county, Chamdo Prefecture of China's People's Republic of China's Tibet Autonomous Region is a prominent Tibetan businessman, philanthropist, and an environmentalist. A Chinese court sentenced Tibetan intellectuals to 15 years in jail in June 2010, an echo of the massive security crackdown that followed the 2008 Tibetan uprising in the capital Lhasa.
