Karen Strassman Career

Career

She said in a Slink FM interview that she chose psychology as a way to make a living in the event that the theatre did not turn out. While there, she noticed an advertisement calling for actors who could speak English. She obtained an apprenticeship at Studio VO/VF, where she worked as a dialect coach. She was given a year of paid work where she taught older French actors how to act in English. She also taught children, where she was recruited by two women who established Hi-Kids, which would make audio cassettes. It was there where she started doing voice-over.

She'll continue to do French and English dubs and then jump into video game voice-over. She spoke out about her French work for Air France, Euro-star Disneyland Paris, and The Louvre and the Musée d'Orsay on audio tours. She worked with Lancôme advertising as a dialect coach.
