Acting career
Chase's big break came in 2002 when she was nominated for the lead role in the Disney animated film Lilo & Stitch. Lilo's film explores how Lilo befriends a strange and destructive blue alien disguised as a dog, whom she refers to as "Stitch" and how she tries to show him how to act using Elvis Presley's music as exemplars. Chase will win an Annie Award in 2003 and star in the follow-up television series Lilo & Stitch: The Series. In the American dub of the anime Japanese film Spirited Away, Chase also spoke about Chihiro Ogino, a ten-year-old Japanese girl.
Chase appeared in Samara Morgan's role in the 2002 film The Ring. Chase received the MTV Movie Awards' 2003 Best Villain award for her role, defeating Mike Myers, Colin Farrell, Willem Dafoe, and Daniel Day-Lewis.
