Early life
Kanwer Singh was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, with immigrant Indian Punjabi Sikh parents. He left his teaching career in 2010 and joined Humble the Poet to embrace poetry and spoken word full-time.
Career
In 2008, Singh began posting his songs on YouTube alone. He has toured around the world to promote his art. Singh has also collaborated with YouTube personality Lilly Singh and produced two music videos titled #LEH and #IVIVI respectively. Humble the Poet won the 2017 Canada Reads book competition, championing Andre Alexis' book Fifteen Dogs. Singh appeared on A Little Late with Lilly Singh in April 2020, and then by himself in May 2021. He also announced that he would start "Humble The Poet Daily'ish," a podcast.
