Kamil Sebastian Durczok (born 6 March 1968) is a Polish journalist, Editor-in-Chief and former presenter of TVN newscast Fakty TVN.
Career
Durczok began working in Radio Katowice in 1991. Earlier this year, he co-founded Student's Radio EGIDA on University of Silesia in Katowice. He became the head and editor-in-chief of Katowice radio TOP FM owned by Solidarity as a 24-year-old man.
He began cooperating with Telewizja Katowice in 1994, where he interviewed politicians in a program called Obserwatorium. He debuted on national television in Studio Parliamentarne. Until 2002, he was the host of TVP3 Katowice newscast - Aktualnoci.
He appeared on the main edition of Wiadomoci from March 2001 to February 6, 2006, as the host of the public television newscast. He has also appeared on TVP1 for many years.
On Polish Radio Channel 3, he appeared on Salon polityczny Trójki alternately with Jolanta Piekowska between the 29 July 2003 and the 2nd September 2005.
He appeared Kontrwyw FM alternately with Konrad Piasecki on radio RMF FM between 5 September 2005 and June 2007.
He was Editor-in-Chief of TVN newscast Fakty TVN from 1 May to 7. On TVN24 from 5 May 2008, he also presented Fakty po Faktach.
He registered the Coal Minders firm, which was founded in August of the same year, looking for journalists from the start of April 2016. The company launched Silesion.pl, the Upper Silesian information portal, on October 3, 2016. Following reports of difficulties with settling accounts, the website was decommissioned from the network at the end of April 2019. He was involved in organizing trainings in the case of an image crisis after the website was defunct.
He began working with Polsat News, where he managed the programme Brutalna prawda, Durczok ujawnia, which changed the name to Durczokracja in the fall of 2017. The last program was broadcast on December 14, 2017, but it did not return to air in spring 2018.
Kamil Durczok continued to be active on social media, reporting on political life in Poland on a regular basis, and was involved in community affairs in the ensuing years. He was, among other things, a volunteer with the "Wolne Miejsce" charity, who helped with the organisation of Christmas Eve for those in need each year. He was involved in demonstrations against the tightening of abortion regulations in 2020.
In 2021, he introduced the Durczokracja mobile app, in which he published his work.
