Julian Dana William McMahon (born 27 July 1968) is an Australian actor and model, as well as the uncle of a former Prime Minister of Australia Sir William McMahon. In the portrayal of Ben Lucini in the Australian soap opera Home and Away (1989–90), Cole Turner in the Australian medical drama Nip/Tuck (2003–10), McMahon received praise for his contributions in television dramas (1996–01).

Early life
McMahon was born in Sydney, the son of Sir William McMahon, a well-known Australian politician, and Lady McMahon (née Sonia Hopkins), a heiress, socialite, and fashion icon. His father served as a member of the Australian House of Representatives and a high-ranking minister in the 24-year Liberal government for many years before Julian's birth; he became Australia's 20th Prime Minister in March 1971, when Julian was two years old. During his Prime Ministership, his mother left her three children in the custody of a nanny to be with her husband in Canberra. Melinda, his older sister, and Deborah, his younger sister. He is of Irish descent through his father.
In a piece published in the Herald Sun in 2018, McMahon addressed his childhood; "My Dad..." was born in 1908. It's a different time than when he was raising me. He must have suffered through a strange misinterpretation of how you were raised in 1908 versus 1972; it would have been so confusing. In addition, how you be a husband in that period of time would have been different."
