Jrue Randall Holiday (born June 12, 1990) is an American professional basketball player for the New Orleans Pelicans of the National Basketball Association. (NBA)
He played college basketball for one season with the UCLA Bruins before being selected by the Philadelphia 76ers in the first round of the 2009 NBA draft for the 17th overall pick.
Holiday spent four seasons with Philadelphia, where he was named an NBA All-Star in his fourth season before being traded to the Pelicans in 2013.

Personal life
Both of Holiday's brothers, Justin and Aaron, are also NBA players. Lauren, his younger sister, played college basketball on UCLA's women's team.
Lauren Cheney, a midfielder for the United States women's national soccer team, was born in July 2013. During his first season at UCLA, the two players appeared at a UCLA women's basketball game for the first time. A young girl questioned if he was Darren Collison and begged for his autograph as he approached his seat. Holiday played with fellow NBA player Darren Collison in the backcourt at UCLA in 2008-2009. Holiday averaged 8.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.6 steals in 27.1 minutes per game in 35 games (all starts). He shot 47.0 percent from 3-point range and 76% from the line, earning Pac-10 All-Freshman Team accolades. Professional career
In the 2009 NBA draft, the Philadelphia 76ers drafted Holidays 17th overall. He scored a season-high 25 points against the Toronto Raptors on April 3, 2010. He set a new career high by scoring 29 points against the Cleveland Cavaliers on November 5, 2010. Against the New Jersey Nets on February 2, 2011, he scored 11 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 assists for his first three-double appearance. He set a new career record by defeating the Chicago Bulls on March 17, 2012. He set a new career record by defeating the Phoenix Suns on November 25, 2012, scoring 33 points. He scored 16 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists against the Suns on January 2, 2013. He matched his career peak by 33 points against the Toronto Raptors on January 18, 2013. He scored a career-high 35 points against the New York Knicks on January 26, 2013. He was selected as a reserve for the 2013 NBA All-Star game two days before. The 22-year-old Holiday made his first All-Star pick, becoming the youngest franchise character to be named an All-Star.
Holiday was traded to the New Orleans Pelicans on July 12, 2013 in exchange for Nerlens Noel and the Pelicans' 2014 first-round draft pick.
