Early life

On July 19, 1960, Lamb was born as Joni Trammell. During her formative years, her family lived in Greenville, South Carolina. Marcus Lamb ministered as a visiting preacher at a revival, and her family was members of the Tremont Avenue Church of God, where she served as a visiting preacher during a revival. The couple met each other at her home church and married two years later, 1982. They stayed in the United States for the next two years, visiting churches as evangelists. In 1984, the couple married in Montgomery, Alabama, where they bought a full power television station and started broadcasting the Bible. This continued until 1990, when the couple relocated to Dallas and opened another station in the larger Texas market. They had collected the funds necessary to launch Daystar by 1998.

Personal life

Jonathan, Rachel, and Rebecca were three children of Joni and Marcus Lamb: Jonathan, Rachel, and Rebecca.

Marcus Lamb was involved in an extramarital affair that neither partner publicly disclosed in 2010. Fred Kendall, their marriage advisor, said "He had one inappropriate period of misdeeding with one individual, but not a man." It wasn't a transvestite. It was with a woman; a Christian woman."
