To reach the masses and those watching online, the festival incorporates contemporary Christian music and inspirational messages. Pastor behind psychedelic San Francisco church raking in $5m a year supplying shrooms and weed to members claims drug-fueled worship can save people from fentanyl

www.dailymail.co.uk, April 14, 2024
'Prophet of Shroom' Dave Hodges, 42, believes his psychedelic religious sacraments could help treat fentanyl addiction in one of America's worst hit cities. Members of his Church of Ambrosia can gain access to sacraments in the form of psychedelic drugs, including magic mushrooms and DMT, in exchange for monetary contributions. Although these substances are federally illegal, Hodges believes the experience is deeply spiritual and protected in law by freedom of religion. He also believes that it can help treat opioid addiction, although scientific research is in its early stages. The Church of Ambrosia was founded five years ago in Oakland, with a second location opening up just a few blocks south of San Francisco's fentanyl-addled Tenderloin district on April 15 last year. It already has 106,000 members, meaning it is technically the biggest megachurch in the US.
