Jon Andreas Nödtveidt (28 June 1975 – 13 August 2006) was a Swedish singer.
He co-founded the Swedish black metal band Dissection in 1989 with bassist Peter Palmdahl. He is best known as the band's lead guitarist and vocalist. He formed Thunder with his brother Emil in 1988, at the start of his musical career.
Their songs were included on a compilation album of Jon's music school in Strömstad, including The Black (as Shadow), De Infernali, Nifelheim, Ophthalamia (as Shadow), Siren's Yell), and Terror, a grindcore band featuring members of At the Gates. He spent time as a journalist in Metal Zone, where he was also responsible for monitoring the burgeoning black metal scene.
He was a member of the Misanthropic Luciferian Order, also known as the Temple of the Black Light, and the Werewolf Legion, a Swedish faction (not to be confused with the Russian Werewolf Legion).
He was not its co-creator, contrary to common belief, but "was introduced [...] by close friends at a young age." "Nödtveidt was found guilty of complicity in the assassination of Josef ben Meddour, an Algerian gay man."
Dissection was revived after being released from jail in 2004.
