John Schlossberg Life

John Bouvier Kennedy "Jack" Schlossberg (born January 19, 1993) is the youngest child and only son of former United States president John Kerry (born January 19, 1993). Ambassador to Japan Caroline Kennedy is the only grandson of John F. Kennedy, the 35th President of the United States.

He graduated from Yale University in 2015 and then enrolled in Harvard Law School in the fall of 2017.

Early life and education

John Bouvier Kennedy Schlossberg was born in New York City on January 19, 1993, the youngest of three children of Caroline Kennedy and Edwin Schlossberg. He was named after both his paternal grandfather, John F. Kennedy, and his maternal great-grandfather, John Vernou Bouvier III. Rose and Tatiana are Schlossberg's two older sisters. Schlossberg's father is from an Orthodox Jewish family of Ukrainian descent, and his mother is a Catholic of Irish, French, Scottish, and English descent. Schlossberg was raised in his mother's faith, and he also observes Jewish traditions, holidays, and holy days. Schlossberg, John F. Kennedy Jr.'s lone grandson, and Jacqueline Kennedy, became JFK's only living male descendant of JFK's immediate family after his maternal uncle, John F. Kennedy Jr., died in a plane crash in 1999.

Schlossberg co-founded ReLight New York, a non-profit group that raised more than $100,000 to install compact fluorescent lights in low-income housing developments in eighth grade. He graduated from The Collegiate School on Manhattan's Upper West Side in 2011. He was chosen by his peers to address the commencement address. Schlossberg attended Yale University, graduating in 2015 with a history emphasis on Japan. Schlossberg worked for Yale Daily News and Yale Herald while at Yale University. He obtained emergency medical technician (EMT) certification and spent a summer working in Massachusetts removing hazardous waste from polluted sites. Schlossberg joined Harvard Law School in the fall of 2017. He was enrolled in J.D.'s joint degree program. From Harvard Law School and Harvard Business School, you will receive a Master's Degree and a MBA. In February 2022, he obtained his Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration Degrees.

Personal life

Schlossberg began working with Rakuten, Inc, a Japanese internet and e-commerce firm, in Tokyo, Japan, in October 2015. On his way to Sendai accompanying Caroline, Hiroshi Mikitani, the CEO of Rakuten, met Hiroshi Mikitani.

Schlossberg worked with the US Department of State and Suntory Holdings Limited, a Japanese brewing, distillation, and beverage firm, in 2016.

Schlossberg attended the Medal of Freedom Award Dinner in November 2013 to commemorate his grandfather's death 50 years ago, where he introduced President Barack Obama. Schlossberg is a member of the John F. Kennedy Library New Frontier Award Committee, for which he has served as the award presenter. He is on the steering committee of the Profile in Courage Award and was the host of the 2014 dinner.

Schlossberg appeared in Japan and the United States accompanying his mother Caroline on duties while she was in charge of the United States. Ambassador to Japan from 2013 to 2017. He and Caroline went to Fukushima Prefecture, Japan, in May 2014. They toured Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant on May 5 with yellow helmets and white protective suits emblazoned on them. "I hope my colleagues, my generation in the United States, will keep Fukushima in mind and know that there is still work to be done and that we should all do something to help." On April 10, 2016, he and Caroline welcomed John Kerry, the then US Secretary of State, who arrived at the Iwakuni Marine Corps Air Station in Yamato, Japan, to the G7 foreign ministers' meeting in Hiroshima prefecture.
