John Reardon Career

Life and career

Reardon, born July 30, 1975, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, studied Theartre Arts at the Lir Academy of Dramatic Arts in Dublin, Ireland, as well as improv at The Second City in Los Angeles, California, and Toronto, Ontario. Reardon considered a career in medicine while at Mount Allison University, but as he grew up, he aspired to become a professional athlete. He was a student at Mount Allison from 1993 to 1997, earning a B.S. degree. Biology is a science degree.

He started acting in 2001 and has appeared in numerous television shows and films, including Tru Calling as Randall Thompson, White Chicks as Heath, Scary Movie 4 as Jack. He appears on both CBC's Arctic Air and Showcase's Continuum, beginning in 2013.

On Arctic Air, John Reardon portrayed Blake Laviolette, a young, good-looking "Top Gun-type" pilot who was secretly affiliated with his coworker and fellow pilot Krista Ivarson. Blake's character is "a fascinating duality," according to Reardon, who claims he came to Yellowknife as a stepping stone to what he surely considers his dream job. However, once he's there, he soon finds out that there's something about the region that draws people. In fact, it starts to get to him and he starts to fall in love with the north, followed by Krista [Pascale Hutton]. Before all of this, he had different priorities, and Blake has become a much more devoted Yellowknifer than anyone else."

Reardon plays Greg Cameron, the husband of the main character, Kiera Cameron, on Continuum. "Greg on the surface seems to be a clean-cut family man who is a respected law-abiding member of society," Reardon said. When she is transported back in time and taken away from her family, Greg, his son Sam, and their daughter Sam, is an anchor for Kiera. However, Greg may not be what he seems as season one progresses.

Reardon first appeared on the Canadian hit series Hudson & Rex as Charlie Hudson, a police officer for St. John's Police Department. Rex, his sidekick and fellow member of the SJPD, had lost his human partner while they were away from work in a case where they were not participating. Charlie was the only one at the scene who managed to convince Rex to take a step away from his partner's body, and the two men formed an unbreakable bond as they began to work together. "Charlie, he's looking for some companionship since he's on his own," he's shared his take on the pair's chemistry and why Charlie and Rex get along so well. Rex fills the void for him, and the two of them work well together." Since the first season was a huge success, Reardon has reprised his role as Charlie for another three seasons. Following season 4's conclusion, the hit show has since been resurgent for season 5, and it is projected to premiere in Fall 2022.
