John Charles Hagee (born April 12, 1940) is an American pastor and televangelist.
The founder of John Hagee Ministries, his ministry is telecast to the United States and Canada.

Career
Hagee began a number of churches in San Antonio, Texas, in 1966, and each church outgrew its previous building, leading to the founding of the Cornerstone Church in 1987. Hagee began in 1981 in San Antonio, following Operation Operation, and aimed to demonstrate support for the State of Israel.
Hagee has been politically active. In 1968, he endorsed George Wallace in his bid for president. His advocacy included the creation and promotion of a youth movement named "Wallace Youth."
Hagee spoke on behalf of Republican presidential primary candidate Alan Keyes, who lost the Illinois primary election to Barack Obama in 2004. Hagee supported conservative State Representative John Shields in the latter's unsuccessful bid for the Texas Senate's District 25 seat. In both chambers of the Texas legislature, Hagee dubbed Shields' foe, incumbent Jeff Wentworth, "the most pro-abortion" of 181 legislators.
Christians United for Israel was founded by Hagee and some 400 figures from both Christian and Jewish synagogues on February 7, 2006 (CUFI). Members of the United States Congress are lobbies, utilizing a biblical strategy for propagating Christian Zionism. He was sent death threats for his activism for the State of Israel and had recruited bodyguards for cover.
Hagee endorsed Senator John McCain in the presidential election against Barack Obama in 2008. Following Hagee's endorsement of McCain, a ruckus erupted over remarks made by Hagee that were perceived by some as anti-Catholic and antisemitic. Following Hagee's words, McCain distanced himself from Hagee.
