A shocking CCTV video of an elderly postmaster being assaulted in a petrol station has been posted, showing him being falsely accused of being a paedophile. According to a juror, veteran country postmaster John Burke's death in hospital stemmed from the assault at a service station in Strathmerton, Victoria's Goulburn Valley, almost three months earlier. A Victorian Supreme Court trial began this week after Troy Maskell, 44, pleaded not guilty to murder in connection with Mr Burke's death.

On Monday, federal prosecutors brought the photos into evidence in federal court, where Anthony Zottola Sr, 41, was charged with recruiting Blood gang members to carry out the assault on his father, Sylvester 'Sally Daz' Zottola, 71. When his SUV was pinned by several cars, Sylvester, a well-known Bonanno crime family associate, had just ordered a medium coffee at a McDonald's drive-thru, and he was fired once in the head and five times in the torso. Anthony is accused of paying Bloods 200,000 to carry out the assault on his dad, as well as make botched attempts to take over his brother Salvatore's $45 million real estate portfolio, according to investigators.

Anthony Zottola Sr. (right) was charged by authorities with using a Bloods gang member to shoot and kill his father, Sylvester 'Sally Daz' Zottola (inset), 71, outside a McDonald's in the Bronx in 2018. After his associates and his allies finished the $200,000 murder, investigators characterized the younger Zottola as a power-hungry, ruthless man who joked with hitman Brushawn Shelton. Following the assault, Shelton texted Anthony, 'Can we party today or tomorrow,' according to the prosecution's notes. Tomorrow is the start of the game.' It's my little man's birthday. Anthony allegedly texted me to McDonald's, his new favorite place.' 'Then to a movie' LOL Like I eat that stuff. "I'm so grateful for your service, my buddy." Salvatore Zottola (right), who survived an assassination attempt just months before his father's murder, was one of the witnesses testifying against Anthony.
