A shocking CCTV video of an elderly postmaster being assaulted in a petrol station has been posted, showing him being falsely accused of being a paedophile. According to a juror, veteran country postmaster John Burke's death in hospital stemmed from the assault at a service station in Strathmerton, Victoria's Goulburn Valley, almost three months earlier. A Victorian Supreme Court trial began this week after Troy Maskell, 44, pleaded not guilty to murder in connection with Mr Burke's death.

On Monday, federal prosecutors brought the photos into evidence in federal court, where Anthony Zottola Sr, 41, was charged with recruiting Blood gang members to carry out the assault on his father, Sylvester 'Sally Daz' Zottola, 71. When his SUV was pinned by several cars, Sylvester, a well-known Bonanno crime family associate, had just ordered a medium coffee at a McDonald's drive-thru, and he was fired once in the head and five times in the torso. Anthony is accused of paying Bloods 200,000 to carry out the assault on his dad, as well as make botched attempts to take over his brother Salvatore's $45 million real estate portfolio, according to investigators.

Salvatore Zottola (right), who survived an assassination attempt just months before his father's murder, was one of the witnesses testifying against Anthony.
