Joey Kramer Career

Life and career

Kramer was born in Bronx, New York City, the son of Doris and Mickey Kramer, a businessman. On June 30, 2009, his book, Hit Hard: A Story of Hitting Rock Bottom, was published. Kramer is credited with inventing the term Aerosmith. Kramer admitted in his memoir that he conceived the name Aerosmith while listening to Harry Nilsson's album Aerial Ballet in 1968, two years before the band was formed. Kramer maintains that there is no connection between the word "Aerosmith" and Sinclair Lewis' book Arrowsmith.

Kramer was a founding member of The Institution, a seminal New Jersey garage band formed by Philip Rubin, J. Howard Duff, Richie Lester, and Marv Coopersmith in the 1970s. The early Bruce Springsteen band, Steel Mill, opened for The Institution at Newark State College on Nov. 25, 1970. Kramer began attending Berklee College of Music and worked with Chubby & the Turnpikes (later known as Tavares) with Bernie Worrell.

Kramer appeared in the episode "The Ned-Liest Catch," as a former Bart's tutor, as well as the entire band to guest star on the show. In 2015, NECA introduced a "Simpsons-ized" action figure of Kramer, as well as other Aerosmith employees as part of the company's fourth series of the Simpsons 25th Anniversary collectible figure series.

Kramer did a fan Q&A in June 2011 and revealed his open-mindedness to non-writers, claiming that he doesn't care about it as long as it is all five members of Aerosmith playing the script.

Kramer also introduced his latest collaboration with Comfort Foods, Inc., who now roasts, bags, and exports his entire bean, organic coffee line: Rockin' & Roastin' Coffee.

In 2015, he announced a joint venture with Les Otten, the Boston Red Sox's former vice chairman, to open two Joey Kramer's Rockin' & Roastin' Café and Restaurant locations in Newry, Maine, and North Attleborough, Massachusetts. In 2017, the North Attleborough location was closed. In 2016, the Newry, Maine location closed.

Linda Kramer's wife, Linda, died on June 22, 2022, at the age of 55.

Aerosmith has confirmed that a farewell tour will begin in September

www.dailymail.co.uk, May 1, 2023
For the last time, Aerosmith will be in a city near you to commemorate the band's 50th anniversary. The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame band revealed Monday that the dates for their farewell tour, 'Peace Out', will begin in Philadelphia on Sept. 2nd. In Montreal, the 40-date series of shows, which also included a stop in the band's hometown of Boston on New Year's Eve, will conclude on January 26. "I think it's about time," guitarist Joe Perry said. Perry said the group, with frontman Steven Tyler, bassist Tom Hamilton, drummer Joey Kramer, and guitarist Brad Whitford, learned from the staging and performance of their latest Las Vegas residency shows. Perry believes that now is the time to say goodbye, especially with any founding band member over the age of 70. Tyler, 75, is the oldest in the group.
