The New York Knicks outlasted the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday night to advance to the Eastern Conference semifinals with a 118-115 victory in the deciding Game 6 of their first-round series. The Knicks will face the Pacers in the conference semifinals, after Indiana eliminated the Milwaukee Bucks themselves earlier on Thursday. Jalen Brunson led all scorers with 41 points, while Joel Embiid led the 76ers with 39. 

With playoff tensions in full swing, the Knicks traveled back to Philadelphia in search of a series win after failing to lock it up at Madison Square Garden in Game 5.  And, despite the eventual 118-115 win, for some New York fans, the pressure of the occasion proved too much as some supporters were seen getting chippy at the Wells Fargo Center Thursday night with one failing to even make it past halftime.  In a clip shared to X, one Knicks fan was captured grappling with a hoard of security guards in the arena's concourse.

Former 76ers partner Michael Rubin has joined forces with the current ownership in a desperate bid to prevent New York Knicks fans from taking over Philadelphia again. Knicks supporters swarmed Philly's Wells Fargo Center for Game 4 of their NBA playoff series on Sunday, with the Sixers' star center Joel Embiid admitting he was 'p****d off' at the situation after their 97-92 loss. Thousands of visiting fans made their presence known on the day, almost outnumbering the home crowd as a result, before New York extended their lead in the series to 3-1.

The NBA has stated that officials of Tuesday night's Game 5 between the Knicks and 76ers missed a critical travel on Philadelphia star Tyrese Maxey. Maxey's walk with the ball happened on the play where he made a 3-pointer and drew a foul on New York's Mitchell Robinson. Maxey's effort helped the 76ers push their Eastern Conference first-round playoff series to a Game 6 on Tuesday night thanks to a pair of clutch 3-pointers with under 30 seconds left in regulation against the Knicks. 

Die-hard New York Knicks fan Ben Stiller headlined celebrity row as he was joined by several other stars to watch New York play in the postseason against the Philadelphia 76ers at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night. Carmelo Anthony, Julianne Moore, Tracee Ellis Ross, Sting, Dave East, and Offset, Jon Stewart, and Tracy Morgan were all spotted courtside for Game 5 of the Eastern Conference first-round matchup in Midtown Manhattan. Knicks fans, not famous and celebrity, were out in full force as they had a chance to eliminate Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey and the rest of Philadelphia from the NBA playoffs.

Joel Embiid (right) missed Tuesday's shootaround with a migraine ahead of a crucial Game 5 for Philadelphia, who enters the clash with a 3-1 deficit.  The 30-year-old put up an impressive 50 points in Game 3 but has otherwise struggled throughout the opening round and was already questionable for Tuesday night's game with left knee injury management. Die-hard Knicks fan Ben Stiller didn't mince words when he called out NBA player-turned-analyst Richard Jefferson in his latest social media rant.  The actor criticized the ABC commentator in the middle of Game 4 of the Knicks' first-round series with the 76ers Sunday.  'Richard Jefferson claiming [Joel] Embiid doesn't get calls, and doesn't foul,' Stiller wrote on X during the game, naming the 76ers center who was issued a foul for grabbing Mitchell Robinson's ankle in Game 3. 

Viral footage on X shows Knicks fans chanting 'Knicks in 5!' after their team's Game 4 win on Sunday, as not a Sixers fan can be seen among the crowd of blue, white and orange jerseys at the Well Fargo Center. 'The game was not at Madison Square Garden,' Barstool Sports wrote to include in its caption. Surrounded by reporters after putting up 27 points and 10 rebounds in 44 minutes, Embiid said it was 'disappointing' to see a plethora of Knicks fans in the stands for Sunday's big game.

Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid has been diagnosed with Bell's palsy, a form of facial paralysis he says has affected him since before this season's play-in tournament. Embiid wore sunglasses to the podium after he scored 50 points in the Sixers' Game 3 win over the New York Knicks on Thursday night and said he's dealt with various symptoms such as blurred vision and dry eyes. He revealed he first started noticing the affliction about a 'day or two' before the Sixers played the Miami Heat on April 17 in the play-in tournament. Embiid had 23 points and 15 rebounds in the win that sent the Sixers to the playoffs.

For the second straight year, a Frenchman may go No. 1 overall in the NBA Draft, as projected top pick Zaccharie Risacher has submitted his official paperwork to the league according to a new report. Risacher, 19, is a 6-foot-10 forward playing for JL Bourg in the French Pro A League. And with the draft roughly two months away, he told ESPN on Monday that he's declared for the event.

Weis - a 2000 Olympic silver medalist and the victim of the notorious 'dunk of death' by Vince Carter - didn't hold back while talking about Embiid- the reigning NBA MVP - on RMC - a French radio station on Saturday. His comments come just days after the 76ers star was named on USA basketball's Olympic roster. Joel Embiid suffered another knee injury scare after landing awkwardly following a spectacular dunk against the New York Knicks on Saturday night. Embiid went back to the locker room with just under three minutes left in the second quarter of the Philadelphia 76ers' first round playoff game at Madison Square Garden. He went up for a monstrous dunk off the backboard but landed awkwardly on the way down. 

Late in the first quarter, Butler buckled his knee and fell while trying to fake out Philadelphia's Kelly Oubre Jr. The latter appeared to land on Butler, who led the Heat from the play-in to the NBA Finals last year. After the collision, Butler sank the first free throw before missing the second. He remained in the game and clocked in 19 points as his team was barely edged, 105-104, by Joel Embiid and company. 'I fell, he landed and my knee just didn't do well, I guess,' Butler said. 'I don't know. It's not a good feeling, I can tell you that.'

On Monday, ESPN reported that the United States finalized 11 of the 12 roster spots . Less than 24 hours later, The Athletic reported that the LA Clippers star will complete the team, per sources. According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski : 'USA Basketball Managing Director Grant Hill met with most of the 12 invitees on the 2024 Olympic team over the past few days, and it wasn't until today that Team USA officials were able to firm up Kawhi Leonard's acceptance to join the roster for Paris.' Leonard will join fellow superstars LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, and Joel Embiid in spearheading the Stars and Stripes.

On Monday, The Athletic reported that Team USA is finalizing 11 of its 12-man roster for the games. According to the Athletic's sources, the players cemented in place combine for 11 NBA titles with four former MVPs. Guards Jayson Tatum, Devin Booker, Jrue Holiday, Tyrese Haliburton, and Anthony Edwards have committed to international duty. Meanwhile, bigs Bam Adebayo and James' Lakers running partner, Anthony Davis, will help bolster the front court for the stars and stripes.
