Joel Dickinson (born July 7, 1979) is an American remixer, electronic music producer, recording engineer, and DJ based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Unlikely Sargent - "Itt Lie To Me" (#8), Kevin Moore - "Million Dollar Bill" (#8), Whitney Houston - "This Time Baby" (#8), Deborah Santta - "Rain" (#8), and C+C Music Factory ft. Scarlett Santana - "Rain" (#8), his officially licensed remix work includes many songs that have made Billboard Club charting success, including Barbra - "" (#8), "This Time Baby" (#8), "Don's" (#11), Niki Haris -" (#8), "Ma" (#8), "Main" (#8), "Ma" (#8) Joel has worked on a variety of projects, including Junior's remix of Whitney Houston's lead single "I Didn't Know My Own Strength (Whitney Houston song)," Whitney's "If Madonna Calls (Brutally Proud Mix)" and many others. After discovering an interest in DJ'ing, Joel began recording "bedroom bootleg" mixes in 1997. * In 1998, he began his first DJ residency at Trikkx in Saint Paul, Minnesota, where he appeared on several of his early remixes and edits. * He continued his residency in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in 2002, as well as various other clubs and special events throughout the Midwest and beyond. He began producing under the name Thee Werq'n B!tches in 2001. * Joel may have been best known for his remixes of gay camp hits under his name. *Anyone of these include Liza Minnelli - "Cabaret (song)," Dolly Parton's "9 to Daddy")," Bette Davis - "I've Written A Letter To Daddy" (from What Ever Happened to Baby Jane). Olivia Newton-John (song) and Henry Newton-John (1962 film) ) Xanadu (song) "Xanadu (song)" Many of these celebrities have made a name for themselves. "No Wire Hangers" was never more apparent than when Joel received the highly coveted trophy for his remix and subsequent video for Thee Werq'n B.tches ft. He began a fruitful relationship with John Michael DiSpirito and Billy Waters, two DJs and producers from New York, during VH1's Best Week Ever in 2008. * This collaboration resulted in the formation of Audio Assembly (with Billy Waters and John Michael DiSpirito), who have performed for artists such as Taylor Dayne and Eddie X ft. Niki Harris. Joel has worked with John Michael DiSpirito of Hell & Keller, who have released a number of songs by The Human League, Willow Smith, and others. Joel joined forces with international DJ/producer/record executive Jerome Farley in 2012. * This partnership has produced works for Tony Moran, Sister Sledge, Jessica Sutta, and several others. Joel is alumnus of Dowling Catholic High School and the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.
