She portrayed Hecubah in the computer game Nox (2000) and then introduced Maggie Sawyer in the 2002 video game Superman: Shadow of Apokolips.

Cassidy wore Zhora's costume 25 years after the film's debut of Blade Runner to recreate a climactic scene from the film's fall 2007 Final Cut release. In the original 1982 version, a stunt performer brought Zhora's death scene to a halt, with physical similarities between the performer and Cassidy particularly apparent (including the stunt woman wearing a different wig). Cassidy's head was digitally transposed onto a video of the stunt artist, making the death scene fit continuity. Cassidy herself suggested this be done, according to the DVD featurette All Our Variant Futures; she was caught on camera suggesting it during a retrospective interview related to Blade Runner.

In the second season of NBC's Heroes, she is included in a portrait of the 12 senior figures of the show's enigmatic corporation. Victoria Pratt appeared in the tenth episode of season two's "Reality & Consequences," where she was killed beyond appearances in photographs.

Cassidy appeared in episodes of Ghost Whisperer, Desperate Housewives, Law & Order: United Kingdom, and was also seen in Amanda Hawthorne's recurring guest role on the medical drama Hawthorne from 2008 to 2009.

Cassidy first appeared on ABC's Body of Proof as Judge Joan Hunt, the mother of Megan Hunt, Dana Delany's character on the series, in 2011. After three seasons in May 2013, ABC cancelled the program. Cassidy appeared in the Bravo scripted series Odd Mom Out in 2015. Candace Von Weber, a snobbish Upper East Side socialite and mother-in-law to the show's protagonist Jill Weber (Jill Kargman), appears on the show. In 2017, the show was cancelled. She appeared in Too Old to Die Young, the Amazon Prime miniseries, in 2019, and later appeared on NCIS: New Orleans.

Cassidy received an honorary award at the Oldenburg International Film Festival in 2015.
