Early life

Murray was born in Reading, Pennsylvania, and grew up in Wyomissing in Berks County, Pennsylvania. In 1998, she and her parents moved to Tucson, Arizona; Murray later relocated to Los Angeles to pursue a career in film.

Personal life

In 2010, Murray began dating Australian singer and actor Dean Geyer. The couple announced their engagement on December 18, 2016. They were married on September 14, 2017.

Career

Murray made her film debut in the 2003 independent film Deep Toad as Natashia. Jayne was later cast in Fifty Pills as Jayne, followed by Legacy, then known as Pretty Little Devils. In The Fun Park, a 2007 indie horror film starring a physically ill girl, she was her first leading role.

Murray played Gwen Adams in the popular drama American High School in 2009. Heather appeared in the cult comedy An American Carol, Abby Graves in the cult thriller The Graves, and Lex Mitchell in Forget Me Not.

Murray appeared in a recurring role on Disney Channel original series Sonny with a Chance, playing Portlyn. Following the 4th episode, she was given a series regular role, but she turned down due to a number of film offers. Penelope (Lara Flynn Boyle's daughter) leads the female lead in her first studio film in Wild Things: Foursome playing Brandi Cox. Eve, who was wrapping the film in 2010 was given the lead female role in her second studio film Never Back Down 2: The Beatdown. Dean Geyer, her long-time boyfriend, appeared in this film.

In the Mass Effect series of video games, Murray's face and body were used as the model for Liara T'Soni's character. She most recently appeared in the premiere episode of the 2011 revival of the reality show Fear Factor (where she came in second place and lost the first place title because her partner died).

Murray appeared in the action film Bad Ass in 2012 and was cast in Cabin Fever: Patient Zero. She produced her first film, Visible Scars, and starred in the film alongside Tom Sizemore. Olivia was landed on MTV's hit show Awkward as the protagonist. Mantervention, Windsor Drive, and My Favorite Five were among her 2013 indie films, including Mantervention, Windsor Drive and My Favorite Five. She appeared in a golf drama titled The Squeeze, Jeremy Sumpter, Christopher McDonald, and Michael Nouri at the end of 2013. Danni, one of the principals in the film Dark Ascension (originally titled Welcome to Purgatory), was played by Murray in 2014.

Murray appeared on CBS's Code Black in 2015, and she was promoted to series regular for the show's second season in summer 2016.
