Patricia Joanne "Jenny" O'Hara (born February 24, 1942) is an American film, television, and stage actress.

Personal life

In Sonora, California, O'Hara was born. Edith (Hopkins) O'Hara, a journalist and drama instructor who founded and operated the 13th Street Repertory Company in New York City for many years before her death in 2020 at the age of 103. Jenny, her younger sister Jill O'Hara, and her musician/guitarist brother Jack O'Hara grew up with their mother's pursuit of a theatrical career. Edith O'Hara and John O'Hara later divorced. In Warren, Pennsylvania, Edith O'Hara supervised a children's theater, where the two daughters appeared on occasion. Jenny O'Hara appeared on stage at age 5 at the Bushkill Playhouse in the Poconos.

She spent a year at Carnegie Tech (now part of Carnegie University) in Pittsburgh, as well as a summer in stock theater, then moved to New York to study with Lee Strasberg and Sanford Meisner. Dorothy Loudon appeared on Broadway in 1964 in the dramatic play Dylan opposite Sir Alec Guinness, and in 1969 she appeared in the dramatic play The Fig Leaves Are Falling at the Broadhurst Theatre with Dorothy Loudon. Promises, Promises, The Iceman Cometh, and The Odd Couple are among her Broadway credits.

In 1970, O'Hara replaced her younger sister, Jill (who had been nominated for a Tony Award) in the musical Promises, Promises series. She grew to television, including roles in: Brinks: The Return of the World's Greatest Detective, Blind Ambition, and Blinded by the Sun with Kristy McNichol.
