Early life and career

Jennifer Leigh Greenberg was born in West Hills, California, to an actress mother and a musician father. Jessica and her younger sister Becca were raised in Simi Valley, California, with her twin sister Jessica and her younger sister Becca in a family of actors and musicians. By age 12, she began to act in school and community theatre productions, as well as a few made-for-TV films.

Green began to act in the television series Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, at Simi Valley High School in 1996, becoming Libby Chessler. She has appeared on television shows such as ER and Dharma & Greg, as well as appearances in other Nickelodeon activities, including The Big Help and game show Figure It Out.

Theatre career and later work

The Wizard of Oz, The Secret Garden, The Fantasticks, Romeo and Juliet, Into the Woods, and West Side Story are among her Los Angeles theatre experiences.

Green was cast as Ivy in Bare: A Pop Opera in 1999. She appeared in the original readings of the musical as well as the original Los Angeles productions. She appeared in the television film First Shot in 2002. She appeared with the Pussycat Dolls at The Roxy Theatre when they were a featured burlesque performance. She travelled to Bare in 2004 where she briefly appeared on Ivy in Bare during its brief off-Broadway run. Bare's cast album was also released in 2007, starring Green. She appeared in concerts and benefits with other cast members as well as on her own in 2004. In a workshop called Mask, a new musical, she appeared as Diana. Green played Betty in the musical film Open House in 2005.

Green later became a cast member of Wicked. Nessarose was the first American tour to debut in March 2005. She also understudied the lead role of Elphaba and, as a result, appeared over 40 times on stage. She reprised her role as Nessarose from December 31, 2006, before appearing in the original Los Angeles production from February to December 2007. Marcie Dodd, who later became the Elphaba standby, was responsible for her replacement.

Green appeared in a production of The Who's Tommy at the Ricardo Montalban Theatre in Hollywood, which ran from June 18 to July 6, 2008.

Green performed in "Never Neverland" in August 21, 2008, a benefit concert that raised funds for Ovarian cancer and NCH. The performance took place at the Duchess Theatre in London. Eden Espinosa and Scott Alan, a Wicked graduate, were accompanied on Green. In episode 4.16 "Ghost Busted," she appeared on CBS' Ghost Whisperer as Carrie.

She appeared in "For The Record: Quentin Tarantino" in Los Angeles, which was presented by ROCKLA for Show at Barre in the fall of 2010. It ran from August 12, 2010 to October 30, 2010. Tracie Thoms, Autumn Reeser, Ty Taylor, and Audra Mae appear alongside.

She appeared at the Barre show. It opened on February 12, 2011, and then closed on June 30, 2011. Tracie Thoms, Arielle Jacobs, and Kate Reinders were among the many actors on stage.

"The Anthem," an Off-Broadway Musical, starred her in 2014. Randy Jones, Remy Zaken, Ashley Kate Adams, and Jason Gotay were among those co-starring on Green. The performance was held at the Lynn Redgrave Theatre in New York City.
