Jeffrey Dean Morgan (born April 22, 1966) is an American actor of film and television.
He is best known for his appearances in the fantasy horror film Supernatural (2005–2019), Denny Duquette in the medical drama series Watchmen (2009–2010), Jason Crouse in the horror film Watchmen (2005–2016), and Harvey Russell in Rampage (2018).
Early life
Morgan was born in Seattle, Washington, to Sandy Thomas and Richard Dean Morgan. In 1984, he graduated from Lake Washington High School and briefly attended Skagit Valley College to pursue a career in basketball. Following a leg injury that ended his hopes of becoming a professional footballer, he left school to pursue his other passions, such as painting and writing. While assisting a friend in moving from Seattle to Los Angeles, intending only to stay for a weekend, he decided to live there permanently to continue acting. "I went into acting, discovered that I had a little talent and went into it."
Personal life
Anya Longwell, a 1992-1998 actress, was married to Morgan from 2002 to 2003. In 2007, he briefly co-starred with Weeds co-star Mary Louise Parker; their relationship came to an end in April 2008.
Sherrie Rose, a British actress and producer, told Us Weekly that she had a son with Morgan, who was born circa 2004-2005. Morgan hasn't confirmed that.
After being set up on a blind date with his Supernatural co-star Jensen Ackles and Ackles' wife, Danneel, whom Burton co-starred on One Tree Hill in 2009, Morgan began a relationship with actress Hilarie Burton. On March 14, 2010, the couple's son was born. They were born on February 16, 2018 after 8 years of infertility. The couple married on October 5, 2019, although some believed they had married in 2014.
Morgan and Burton have lived in Rhinebeck, New York, on a 100-acre working farm, with cows, ducks, chickens, alpacas, donkeys, and an emu. Since 2014, they've been co-owners (along with Morgan's friend, actor Paul Rudd) of Samuel's Sweet Shop, a Rhinebeck candy store, where they saved from being closed after the previous owner, a friend of theirs, died unexpectedly.

Career
Morgan has appeared in over 25 feature films since being introduced (1991). However, the bulk of his work has been done in television. He was a main character in the 1996–97 television series The Burning Zone, appearing in eleven of the nineteen episodes.
Morgan appeared in three television series together in 2005 and 2006, including John Winchester as heart transplant recipient Denny Duquette and Judah Botwin in two episodes of ABC's Weeds. He has appeared in a number of television shows, including ER, JAG, Walker, Texas Ranger, Angel, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Sliders, The O.C. Monk and Monk. Morgan was cast in a Grey's Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes' proposed project in 2007. The series, tentatively named "Correspondents," was supposed to begin in production in summer 2007. Instead, ABC picked up Private Practice, a spin-off of Grey's Anatomy that was also created by Rhimes. "Corrects" was shelved as a result.
Morgan appeared in the film The Accidental Husband, which ended filming in March 2007 and was released on DVD in 2009.
In 2011, Morgan appeared in the dramatic The Resident. In 2008, he appeared in the drama film Days of Wrath.
