Theresa May has confirmed that she would not run for office as an MP at the next General Election. After 27 years representing Maidenhead, the former Conservative Prime Minister said she had made the "difficult decision" to step down from her position. Mrs May, the first woman elected in 1997, said that her work on topics such as modern slavery and human trafficking was taking up increasing amounts of her time.
