Etienne Schneider (born 29 January 1971) is a Luxembourg politician and economist with the Luxembourg Socialist Workers' Party (LSAP).
He served in Kayl from 1995 to 2005, and from 1997 to 2004, he was the secretary general of the LSAP's legislative committee.
In 2005, he was elected first alderman of the municipality of Kayl, a post he held until May 2010.
Schneider was elected Minister of Finance and Foreign Trade on February 1, 2012.
Following the 2013 Luxembourg general election, he became the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Economy.

Early life
Schneider, a born in Dudelange, completed his secondary education at Lycée Technique d'Esch-sur-Alzette before attending ICHEC Brussels Management School and the University of Greenwich in London, where he earned degrees in management and finance in 1995.
Business career
Schneider resigned from his post as Minister of Finance and entered the business world in June 2020 after Jeannot Krecké resigned from his role as ArcelorMittal's director for ten years. Schneider's sole shareholder, who is identified with Schneider's astrological symbol Aquarius, established his first anonymous limited company SA Beta Aquarii on the 30th anniversary of the constellation's brightest star, namely on Boulevard de la Pétrusse in Luxembourg. Schneider became the independent director of Sistema, which controls East-West United Bank, following Jeannot Krecké's appointment to it in May 2012 (Luxembourg).
