Michael Lorenzen of the Philadelphia Phillies records a career-best no-hitter against the Washington Nationals, the franchise's 14th no-hitter ever

www.dailymail.co.uk, August 10, 2023
Michael Lorenzen threw the 14th no-hitter in Philadelphia Phillies history, a dazzling start to his new team, which beat the Washington Nationals 7-0 on Wednesday night. Lorenzen, a 31-year-old boy from Detroit, struck out five, walked four, and climbed to 2-0, the first minor leaguer to be drafted from Detroit at the trade deadline. Lorenzen made the first pitcher to toss a no-no in his home debut for a franchise after Don Cardwell did so for the Chicago Cubs in 1960.

THE RED KING of Detroit: The Tigers are back for their first combined no-hitter in history

www.dailymail.co.uk, July 9, 2023
With a 2-0 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays on Saturday, the Tigers maintained style with their first combined no-hitter in Detroit history. Just one day after the Tigers allowed 12 runs to the Blue Jays, Matt Manning, Jason Foley, and Alex Lange teamed up for the combined no-hitter. It's the ninth no-hitter in Tigers history and first since Spencer Turnbull blanked Seattle on May 18, 2021. In addition, it's the major leagues' first all-hitter since three Houston Astros pitchers shut down the New York Yankees in June 2022.

MLB ROUNDUP: Baltimore pitchers' 34-inning scoreless steak comes to an end against Detroit

www.dailymail.co.uk, April 22, 2023
The Baltimore Orioles pitchers may have lasted 34 innings, but the Baltimore Orioles' resurgent Baltimore Orioles pitchers have not lost a single game on Friday night. Javier Báez struck a tying single off the Orioles closer Félix Bautista (2-1), snapping a 34-inning streak by Baltimore pitchers. The Orioles answered right away. The Baltimore Orioles won for their fourth straight victory over the Detroit Tigers, 2-1 over Adam Frazier in the bottom of the ninth inning. Ryan Mountcastle of Baltimore scored a one-out single off Jason Foley (0-1) in the ninth quarter. On a single by Anthony Santander and Frazier, followed by a soft grounder to the right side, and first baseman Spencer Torkelson's throw home was late to get Mountcastle.
