James Tupper (born August 4, 1965) is a Canadian actor best known for his role as Jack Slattery on ABC's Men in Trees, Dr.
Chris Sands on the NBC medical drama series Mercy, and David Clarke on ABC's Revenge.

Early life
Tupper was born in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada. He studied at Concordia University, Montreal, and later at Rutgers University in New Jersey, where he obtained a master's degree.
Personal life
In November 2006, Tupper divorced Kate Mayfield; they were still married as of early 2009. Since meeting on the set of Men in Trees, he started dating actress Anne Heche in 2007. Their son was born in March 2009. In January 2018, the couple broke up.
Career
Tupper appeared in several off-Broadway plays, including An Actor Prepares and After the Rain. He co-wrote and appeared in 2005's Loudmouth Soup, a completely revised independent film that was shot in one night with no script and no second takes.
Tupper began starring Jack Slattery in the ABC series Men in Trees in 2006, and he was credited for all 36 episodes of the series. He appeared in NBC medical drama Mercy for 22 episodes before being cancelled in 2010.
On ABC's Grey's Anatomy, Tupper appeared as Dr. Andrew Perkins, a trauma specialist. In the show's seventh season, he appeared in seven episodes.
