Early life
Casady was born in Washington, D.C., the son of Mary Virginia (née Quimby) and William Robert Casady. His father was of half-Irish Protestant and half Polish Jews of origins. His mother was a descendent of aviator Harriet Quimby; some of her relatives had lived in North America since the 1600s.
He began playing bass in the Washington, D.C. area, and after that time (and with a forged I.D.) he began underage. I grew up in Washington, D.C., and was a fan of artists such as Little Anthony and the Imperials.
