Ian Broudie Life

Ian Zachary Broudie (born 4 August 1958) is an English singer-songwriter, singer, and record producer from Liverpool, England.

Broudie started producing albums (sometimes under the name Kingbird) for musicians like Echo & the Bunnymen, The Coral, The Zutons, and many others as a result of his emerging from the post-punk scene in Liverpool in the late 1970s as a member of Big in Japan. Around 1989, he began writing and recording under the name Lightning Seeds, debuting the album Cloudcuckooland on Rough Trade and independent label Ghetto Records, and later forming a live touring band in 1994.

Lightning Seeds enjoyed a lot of success in the 1990s.

Broudie released Tales Told under his own name in 2004.

In 2006, the Lightning Seeds reformed and released their sixth studio album, Four Winds, in 2009.

Personal life

Broudie lives in London but spends a considerable amount of time in Liverpool as his recording studio is based there. In 2018, he said he was recording in his house. Riley Broudie, a fellow Lightning Seeds fan, has a son. 1991-1991), who was the inspiration for the band's 1992 album "The Life of Riley."

Ian Broudie Career

Early career

In the 1970s, Ian Broudie appeared in Liverpool's fledgling punk scene. He was a member of the band Big in Japan, with Holly Johnson and Bill Drummond. On their lone album from 1981, he was also a founder member of John Peel's Original Mirrors and was credited as a member of Bette Bright and the Illuminations. He produced and wrote tracks under the name Care with vocalist Paul Simpson in 1983; the pair then released three singles, including the minor UK chart hit "Flaming Sword."

Solo career

Despite the fact that Tales Told saw Broudie step into folk rock territory and away from the Lightning Seeds' slick pop sounds, Broudie's debut solo effort, Tales Told, was welcomed by critics and fans alike on October 11th. In the first episode of the 3rd season of the US television series The O.C., the first song on the album, "Song for No One," appeared in the first episode.

From their footie anthem Three Lions, David Baddiel and Frank Skinner have seen little in the way of royalties

www.dailymail.co.uk, February 14, 2024
On the 1996 Euros, the English comedian, 59, admitted to the song Three Lions by himself, Frank, and the band The Lightning Seeds earned them money. However, David said that the album has not been a moneymaker for the comedy pair since the inception of Spotify. 'Not money, for a start,' David told The Sun when asked what the song had brought him in addition to fame.' A fair wedge was sent between Frank and Ian Broudie of The Lightning Seeds.' But not since Spotify took over, has it brought us much money.'

Zak Starkey, the son of Ringo Starkey, joins Oasis' Andy Bell, and Shaun Ryder of Happy Monday joins the Oasis family as a supergroup

After five 90s legends founded their own supergroup Mantra of the Cosmos, Glastonbury is expected to be rocked. Zak Starkey, the Ringo Starr's brother and the Who drummer, has joined forces with Oasis bassist Andy Bell, 52, The Lighting Seeds' frontman Ian Broudie, 60, as well as Happy Mondays' Shaun Ryder, 60. We've been making a new album for Universal,' Shaun told The Sun. It's a little bit of a lot of us together.'

For the latest iteration of the Three Lions, England supporters slammed Baddiel and Skinner

www.dailymail.co.uk, November 18, 2022
The comedians claim they 'couldn't refuse' to reunite with The Lightning Seeds singer Ian Broudie to create a new version of the much-loved song that was first released in 1996 when England lost on penalties to Germany. This time it includes 'Three Lions on a sleigh' and 'football's coming home for Christmas,' as well as a festive music video starring a World Cup made with a Christmas pudding and custard. Several nods to the Lionesses who won Euro 2022 this summer have been lost, including England's 1966 World Cup winner Sir Geoff Hurst, who also dresses as Noddy Holder from Slade. However, football fans are questioning the decision to broadcast it once more, with others claiming that it is so toe-curling and saccharin-sweet that it makes them want to vomit. Many believed it was simply Skinner and Baddiel profiting by 'flogging The Lions song to death.' One wag tweeted: 'A new version of Three Lions?Could this world cup get any worse?' With one dissatisfie fellow England supporter adding, "There are three Lions in the bin more like it."
