Cara Delevingne, to the surprise of no one, attended the 2023 Met Gala, sporting an all-white outfit, black leather gloves, and a hairstyle that deviated from her typical long blonde hue. This year's event theme is an ode to late designer Karl Lagerfeld's work, to whom the model had a close friend, so it's no surprise she went above and beyond. (The day before, Delevingne teased an iconic cosplay of Lagerfeld himself on Instagram, sporting a white feathered wig, massive aviators, and a pinky-nude lip.)
Makeup artist Hung Vanngo created a show-stopping look for Delevingne, with smoked-out eyeshadow and a matte complexion. However, it was hairstylist Danielle Priano who helped the model steal the show with a pastel-colored wig we couldn't avoid seeing. "Looking back at past campaigns [Lagerfield and Delevingne] did together, we were evoked by the Chanel Cruise 2013 photos of her in different pixie lengths and coloured wigs," Priano tells POPSUGAR by email. "We decided to modernize these references by creating a cool, shag style wig dyed in an off white, pastel shade to honor their heritage and bring the past to life."
