Henry Fielding Life

Henry Fielding (22 April 1707 – 8 October 1754) was an English novelist and dramatist best known for his rich, earthy, and satirical prowess, as well as the author of the comedic book Tom Jones.

In addition, he has a central place in law enforcement, having used his position as a magistrate to locate (with his half-brother John) what some have described as London's first police force, the Bow Street Runners.

Sarah, his younger sister, became a good writer.

Early life

Fielding was born in Sharpham, Somerset, and educated at Eton College, where he began a lifelong friendship with William Pitt the Elder. His mother died when he was 11 years old. His grandmother filed a petition for child support against Lt. Edmund Fielding, a charming but irresponsible father. Henry was placed in his grandmother's care as a result of the deal, but he continued to see his father in London.

As she was on her way to church in 1725, Henry attempted to kidnap his cousin Sarah Andrews (with whom he was infatuated). He fled to avoid prosecution.

Fielding travelled to Leiden in 1728 to study classical literature and law at the university. Penury, on the other hand, brought him right to London, where he began writing for the theatre. Prime Minister Sir Robert Walpole's government was savagely chastised by some of his writings.

ANSWERS TO CORRESPONDENTS: Have several newly discovered animals been named after The Muppets?

www.dailymail.co.uk, June 3, 2024
Scientists discover new species all the time and they have a penchant for naming them after famous characters. A species of fossil trilobite discovered in China in 2007 was called Geragnostus waldorfstatleri after Statler and Waldorf, the cantankerous duo that heckle the other Muppets from the box seats. Another trilobite of the genus was named after Han Solo. There is a Tasmanian tube-dwelling spider named Ariadna gonzo after The Great Gonzo, the Muppets' long-nosed, passionate, yet hopeless, stuntman. Kermit the Frog has been honoured with an entire genus. Kermitops is an extinct genus of amphibian whose fossil was discovered in Texas in 1984. As yet only one species is known, Kermitops gratus, but if further relatives are discovered they will bear the name. Another species of frog was named Hensonbatrachus kermiti in 2015.
