Career

Orrantia began singing at the age of nine and began formal instruction at 12. At the age of 13, she recorded her first song at 13. By 15, she had released her first EP of cover songs and began writing with songwriter Jamie Houston, who, at the time, was best known for writing hits for the three Disney High School Musical films.

Orrantia produced the vocals on "Magic of a Friend," which appeared on Disney's Tinkerbell and The Lost Treasure soundtrack in 2009. Orrantia sang background vocals for Demi Lovato on Disney's Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam soundtrack and background vocals for Miley Cyrus on Disney's Hannah Montana Forever soundtrack in 2010.

In 2011, she first appeared in a Sprint commercial for the first time. She appeared in the independent film Cooper and the Castle Hills Gang, which premiered at the Dallas International Film Festival.

Orrantia auditioned for the first season of The X Factor in the summer of 2011. During the live audition process in Seattle, Orrantia was chosen from a YouTube video submission and received four "yes" votes from the judges. Though she auditioned as a solo artist on "Hollywood Week," she and three other female singers were put into a group for the remainder of the auditions as Lakoda Rayne. They were eliminated during the fifth week of the live broadcasts.

Orrantia has appeared on ABC's comedy show The Goldbergs since 2013. After filming Orrantia and discovering her singing abilities, series creator Adam F. Goldberg has written several episodes in which Erica sings. AJ Michalka, a series co-star, is also a recording artist, and the two artists appear on three of The Goldbergs MixTape's tracks, which were released in 2017.

Orrantia played a key role in God's Not Dead 2's drama film, which was released on April 1, 2016.

"Strong, Sweet, and Southern" was her single released in 2016. On YouTube, the music video has received over 400,000 views.

She debuted The Way Out, an extended play, in 2019. (EP). It has been described as a "very personal and personal glimpse at her own life."

Orrantia debuted as the "Ringmaster" of Team Good in 2022. She made a remark about knowing Nicole Scherzinger from The X-Factor back when she first became a Lakoda Rayne member. Orrantia came in second place in second place.
