Derek Hough's wife Hayley Erbert has revealed she still has medical professionals present as she prepares for an upcoming dance tour, nearly a year after undergoing an emergency brain surgery.  Erbert, 30, was hospitalized last year after she suffered a cranial hematoma while performing during their Symphony of Dance tour, and the couple recounted the ordeal on a recent episode of Dancing With The Stars.  Erbert has since returned to the stage, and she is now teaming up with her husband, 39, for their upcoming tour, Derek Hough: Dance for the Holidays. 

Derek Hough had tears streaming from his eyes as he tearfully recalled the heartbreaking moment he learned that his wife Hayley Erbert was 'essentially dying'. The 39-year-old dancing pro and his 30-year-old wife appeared on Tuesday night's episode of Dancing With The Stars where they candidly talked about her health struggles before an emotional performance together. Before their dance, the audience watched a heart wrenching video describing the events of the day when Hayley fell ill and everything 'came to a screeching halt in the most devastating way.'

Derek Hough and his wife, dancer Hayley Erbert, 29, looked fantastic as they stepped out for a date night at an Emmys bash on Sunday. The Dancing With the Stars judge, 39, looked suave in a classic black tux as the couple attended the Walt Disney Company's Emmy Awards Celebration at the Music Center in Los Angeles. His beautiful wife showed off her dancer's physique in a feather-adorned silver dress. The bodice of Haley's strapless dress featured a silver and white bejeweled pattern and from the waist down to her knees the skirt was covered in fluff until the hemline which repeated the pattern from the bodice. The outing marks one of the only times the couple has made a red carpet appearance since Hayley underwent an emergency craniectomy in December 2023.

Following her horrific health battle, Hayley Erbert has a message for everyone. After suffering a cranial hematoma due to a burst blood vessel, you may have noticed Derek Hough's wife underwent emergency skull surgery two months ago. She had a cranioplasty to repair the portion of her head that had been cut a few weeks earlier. So yeah, Hayley's first month has been a difficult few months. And now, she's ready to start speaking out about what happened to her, beginning with showing off both the "new haircut" and "new scar" she got from her surgery.

Following Hayley Erbert's emergency brain surgery, Derek Hough gave an update on his wife Hayley Erbert's health. The 29-year-old dancer died on December 6 after being disoriented at their Symphony of Dance concert stop in Washington, D.C., and then underwent emergency craniectomy. Derek took to Instagram to post how Hayley is doing in the midst of his recovery.
