Life and career

Despite being born in the Netherlands, Zwart was raised in Fredrikstad, Norway. He began making short films at age eight. He studied at the Dutch Film Academy in Amsterdam, where he received acclaim for his student film Gabriel's Surprise. The film was later televised. He produced Agent Cody Banks, One Night at McCool's, Hamilton, Lange Flate Ballr 2 and other award-winning short films, music videos, and commercials.

He is also the co-director and producer of the first Long Flat Balls, a Norwegian film about soccer fans from Fredrikstad, Norway. This film, which has often been described as "The Full Monty" with more laughs, has been a big success in Norway. The Karate Kid is his highest-grossing film to date. He also produced music videos for the Norwegian band a-ha for the songs "Velvet" and "Forever Not Yours." Morten Harket's solo debut song "Brother" was also directed by him.

He is involved in the creation of Sony Pictures Animation's live-action/CG feature film based on the video game collection RollerCoaster Tycoon, as a producer to Universal Pictures' Bakugan, a film based on the strategic game and anime series Bakugan Battle Brawlers.
