Hadiqa Kiani (in Punjabi and Urdu: حدیقہ کیانی ) TI(c) is a Pakistani singer, Songwriter, Guitarist, composer, actress, and philanthropist. She has received numerous local and international awards and also has performed at the Royal Albert Hall and The Kennedy Center. Besides Urdu and Punjabi, she has also sung several songs in the Pashto language.
In 2006, Kiani received the fourth-highest Pakistan civilian award, the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, for her contributions to the field of music. In 2010, she was appointed as a United Nations Development Programme Goodwill Ambassador, making her the first woman in Pakistan to a Goodwill ambassador to the United Nations.

Personal life
Kiani was the sole caretaker of her mother, Khawar Kiani, who was paralyzed since 2006 and passed away on October 14, 2022. Upon Khawar's passing, it was reported that the entertainment industry and the country mourned her loss as she was the writer of the "biggest songs in Pakistani music history" including Kiani's "Boohey Barian" and the Kiani & Atif Aslam collaboration for Hum TV titled "Aas Pass"
Kiani adopted her son, Naad-e-Ali, in 2005 from the Edhi Foundation after the 2005 earthquake. Later, she married a UK-based Afghan businessman, Syed Fareed Sarwary. In 2008, she divorced Sarwary.
Early life and career
Kiani, the youngest of three siblings, her older brother (Irfan Kiani), and her sister (Sasha). She died when she was 3 years old. Khawar Kiani, a poet, was the principal of a government girls' academy. Khawar enlisted Kiani in the Pakistan National Council of the Arts due to her musical abilities. Madam Nargis Naheed, her teacher, gave her an early education in music.
Kiani represented Pakistan at international children's festivals in Turkey, Jordan, Bulgaria, and Greece while studying at Viqar-un-Nisa Noon Girls High School, winning numerous awards along the way and performing for thousands around the world. Kiani appeared on PTV as a member of Sohail Rana's children's program Rang Barangi Dunya, a weekly musical.
Kiani went from Rawalpindi, India, to Lahore, where she continued her classical training with Ustad Faiz Ahmed Khan and Wajid Ali Nashad. Kiani graduated from Pakistan's top universities, earning her bachelor's degree in psychology from Kinnaird College for Women University and her Masters of Psychology from the prestigious Government College University (Lahore).
Kiani debuted on television in the early 1990s to host Angan Angan Taray, a children's music show. During her three-plus years as host of the show alongside internationally respected music composer Amjad Bobby and later with music composer Khalil Ahmed, she had performed over one thousand songs for children. Kiani performed on this program with the title of "A+ artist" on behalf of PTV, which includes Noor Jehan, Naheed Akhtar, and Mehnaz. On NTM, Kiani also appeared as a VJ for a music charts service called Video Junction.
In the early 90s, Kiani began singing songs as a playback singer for movies, most notably was the hit Pakistani film Sargam, which was starring and being composed by Adnan Sami Khan. Several awards for her playback singing, including the coveted Nigar Awards for Best Female Playback Singer, were given to her this year.
Acting Career
Kiani announced in January 2021 that she would make her acting debut alongside Nauman Ijaz, Sania Saeed, and Iqra Aziz in Hum TV's drama Raqeeb Se. Bee Gul and directed by Kashif Nisar, but Kiani wrote and produced the OST written by her mother, Khawar Kiani. Kiani starred as the lead heroine in the film, portraying a battered mother named Sakina, and received critical and fan praise for her appearance. Kiani's debut in the acting field earned her first accolades in the acting field, and was named one of "The Greatest Dramas of 2021" by the writer.
In October 2021, Kiani's second drama appeared alongside Bilal Abbas Khan, which paired Kiani with Bilal Abbas Khan. Sarwat Nazir, directed by Danish Nawaz, was written and produced by Momina Duraid Productions for Hum television. The drama, according to DAWN Images, was a "attempt at redefining the 'leading lady' in Pakistani dramas." The drama received critical and admiration for its plotline, as well as Kiani's appearance as Mehru. Dobara consistently dominated the ratings charts, with a record of 8.8 TRP ratings in February 2021.
