Rupam Islam Life

Rupam Islam (born 25 January 1974) is a Bengali-based Indian playback singer who has appeared in Bengali and Hindi films, as well as as the music director of several Bengali films.

He is also the lead singer of the band Fossils. He is the recipient of the National Film Award for Best Male Playback Singer.

In 2010, he received the award for his role in the film Mahanagar @ Kolkata.

Rupam has been selected to serve on the West Bengal government's cultural committee for music (Bangla Sangeet Academy).

He is the son of a Bengali family.

Early life

Rupam's musical journey began early in his parents' tutelage: late Nurul Islam and late Chhandiita Islam, both born on January 25th in a family of musicians. He was on stage with his parents' choir group Jhanhar Goshthi by the age of four. He had performed at all leading auditoriums in Kolkata by age nine, and he had been an empanelled child artiste of Aakashvani and Doordarshan.

Education went hand-in-hand with music, and he graduated from Asutosh College, a University of Calcutta affiliate college, with honours in English literature. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Education (BEd) and joined Taki Boys Multipurpose School, where he taught English to primary school students for ten years before voluntarily retiring in 2006 to concentrate on his interests in music.

Personal life

On October 21st, Rupam married Rupsha Dasgupta, a long-time friend. Rup Aarohan Prosohan Proseus and his parents were born on September 12, 2010.

Fossils and solo career

Fossils, his brother's band, was established in 1998. They were one of the best West Bengal rock bands within the first five years. Rupam was dubbed the band's frontman, composer, and lead vocalist. Fossils has had six smash hits, each of which has had one hit or the other in the charts busters.

Rupam's first solo album Tor Bhorshate was released by HMV in 1998 after a training in Indian classical music. The album was re-released as Neel Rong Chhilo Bhishon Priyo in 2003 and SaReGaMa re-released it in CD form ten years after first being released on the market.

In 2007, RnB (Rupam and Bumpy) was released, making it the year's most popular album.

Rupam's sophomore solo album, Na Hanyate from SaReGaMa, was released in 2010. It received him prizes in Kolkata, and the album was one of the year's best-selling albums. In 2010, Rupam was named the Best Male Playback Singer for his role in the film Mahanargar in Kolkata.

Nishkromon, Rupam's third solo album, was released in 2011. Even before its introduction, it became a huge hit. He has been associated with several other Bengali rock bands' members in this collection. Both songs were recorded live.

In 2013, the band's sixth studio album was released in Rajarhat, Bengal, on October 19th. – Kolkata. The band softly launched their album "Fossils 4" as online streaming to the audience for the first time. It was also the first time the band holds both copyright and publishing rights of this album, although INRECO will handle distribution and marketing. It became a smash hit song by its online debut.

Rupam is regarded as the West Bengal rock's pioneer.' Rupam is one of West Bengal's most popular contemporary singers.

Rupam made his debut in Telugu film industry in 2014 with a hit number named Neeli Neeli Kalladana for the film Pilla Nuvvu Leni Jeevitham.

Rupam released his solo album Notun Niyom in 2017, as well as playing all the instruments. All of these songs have music videos, and different producers have released them. Samarpan Sengupta produced "Chandni te Unmad Ekjon," a worldwide hit on YouTube, and went viral. Samik Roy Choudhury produced "Daniken," a national hit and also on YouTube. The album is one of Rupam's most experimental creations.

Fossils 5, Fossils 5, Fossils 5 was Fossils' fifth album on record in 2018.
