Gülse Birsel (née Sener, born 11 March 1971) is a Turkish actress, scenarist, and columnist.

Early life

Gülse Birsel was born in Istanbul on March 11, 1971 as the third child of Gültekin and Semiha ener's third child. Her father was a lawyer, but her mother was a housewife. Her name was chosen from the first syllables of her mother and father's names. Bozkurt is five years old, while her older sister Dilek is three years older than her. Her older brother is an ophthalmologist and a former national volleyball champion. She completed her secondary education at Beyolu Anadolu High School. She was considering doing this as a career after high school's graduation. However, she began studying at Boaziçi University, Department of Economics, in honor of her family's wishes. She earned her MFA at Columbia University in 1994 and 1996.

Personal life

Murat Birsel, a columnist and television programmer, married Gülse Birsel in Cannes, France, in August 1999. The two met through Ayşe Arman. Birsel, who has stated that she is not suitable for motherhood, has no children. Birsel and her husband live in Nişantaş. Semiha ener, her mother, died in August 2014.

Gülse Birsel started working for Aktüel magazine during her second year at university. On her return to Turkey in 1996, she began writing the foreign news bulletins for three months. She had been named editor-in-chief of Esquire Turkey's magazine a year ago. She served as editor-in-chief of Harper's Bazaar Turkey from December 1997 to 2003. She served as a columnist for Sabah newspaper from 2001 to 2002. She served as FHM's Bazaar and House Beautiful during this time. She made her television debut on ATV's g.a.g. in March 2002. She presented the case for g.a.g. in March 2003. In a book titled Gayet Ciddim, she had previously written, as well as the articles she had previously written. She appeared on g.a.g. as the presenter and writer until March 2004.

She appeared in a leading role in ATV's series Eyvah in March 2003 together with Levent zdilek. After the first episode, Eski Kocam was cancelled, but after that, the show was cancelled. In February 2004, she began to act as both an actor and a stagerist in ATV's series Avrupa Yakas. She played a leading role in Gazanfer szcan, Hümeyra, and Ata Demirer. Her second book, Hâlâ Cidddiyim, was published in May 2004. In 2005, she made her cinematic debut with the film Hrsz Var! Yolculuk Nereye Hemşerim?, her third book, was published in August 2005. She carried the 2008 Summer Olympics torch in Istanbul in April 2008. She appeared in her first cinematic role in the film 7 Kocal Hürmüz in 2009.

In June 2009, Avrupa Yakas' contract came to an end.

Birsel's fourth book Velev ki Ciddiyim!

In December 2009, she was released in December 2009, followed by her fifth book Yazlk in June 2011. She began acting as an actress and stagerist on Kanal D's series Yalan Dünya, which lasted for four seasons, in January 2012. She appeared in the leading role with Altan Erkekli, Füsun Demirel, and Olgun IMşek. She began writing for Hürriyet in Mart 2013. She was one of the judges on television8's competition Komedi Türkiye in 2015. Memleketi Ben Kurtaraca, her sixth book, is out now. In November 2015, it was announced.

In December 2017, she appeared in Aile Aras nda, her first feature film in which she appeared as both scenarist and actress, was released. She began appearing as a scenarist and lead actress on Star TV's comedy film Jet Sosyete in February 2018. Birsel resigned from her position as a columnist for the Hürriyet newspaper in October 2019.

She began writing the Ylbaş script, which will be released on the Disney+ platform in 2022, and will appear in the film.
